Chuseok is known as Korean thanksgiving day to celebrate the good harvest. It is in middle of autumn and a major harvest festival. 

Koreans usually visit their hometowns and share a feast of Korean traditional food such as songpyeon↓

Songpyeon is one of the representative foods of Chuseok. This rice cake is prepared with rice powder and sesame seeds and beans.

As you see the picture above, This is one of the ancestral memorial rites with fruits and vegetables, meat dishes. In the morning of Chuseok. family gather together to hold a memorial service for their ancestors 

During the traditional holidays, millions of people hit the road toward their hometowns for family reunions. It's common that expressways are crammed with cars leaving Seoul expecting extreme traffic congestion on highways
