Sometimes, actually often times we do crave food much more than usual.
Where does this hunger come from?
There can be various justified reasons why we often feel this way.
Let's find out why, shall we? Then I bet ya'll go nodding ;)
1. Stressed out too much
If you're stressed for just a short period of time,
then you might just end up losing appetite and
barely have anything to eat (It depends, though).
If you're stressed out way too much for a long period of time,
then you might start feeling like you gotta munch on food.
Cortisol, one of the stress hormones, is secreted a lot during this time,
making you keep yearning for food even though you're super full.
2. On your period
It's already well-known that sex hormones affect appetite a lot.
The amount of estrogen, in particular, is radically decreased right before
you start your period. Don't you often eat a lot during this time, ladies?
That's why we crave sweets and food with higher calories!
3. Protein-deprived
You gotta maintain the sufficient amoung of intake for protein.
Food like chicken breast, fish, yogurt and so on
helps you feel full and satisfied.
If you lack protein, then you won't be able to properly control
how much you should eat.
4. Craving sweets
Oh sugar, what a luscious name!
However, it can play a devil on you by ruining your meal cycle!
If you are starving and you still got like couple or more hours left before next meal,
do avoid sweets. If you do, then you'll most likely feel even more starved!
