[YAKSON HOUSE] 10TH BEAUTY EDITOR'S REVIEW / 10th BEAUTY EDITOR ADELLE / BEAUTY TIP / BEAUTY EDITOR / CUSTOMER REVIEW / FREE CARE / K BEAUTY

I am now considered a beauty editor, and I am getting a face resizing care…

…I know, I know, it sounds crazy, right? Never in my life have I ever imagined to be called a beauty editor. I have tried to be a travel blogger, but to be writing for and about beauty and skin care…? It is beyond my wildest dreams! That is why I was so ecstatic when Yakson House invited me to be their 10th beauty editor for two months, and what I will do is to try their famous face resizing care and write about my experience for the whole two months in my blog. I have always been a chubby girl all my life, and I have always have a fat and round-shaped face, so I am really excited to try this treatment.
But what is face resizing? How does it work? What are the process of doing such thing? My first question was, “Am I undergoing a surgery?”
Okay, so first things first… I did my research about Yakson House and its services. I found out that their beauty house is very popular in Korea, with more than 80 branches, Japan, Singapore and China, and in the Philippines, of course. Second thing I did was to educate myself about face resizing care in particular. I found out that they use a method called golki therapy massage, also known as bone therapy massage. I will discuss the details in the latter part of this post, so keep reading!🙂
Yesterday was my first session for the face resizing care. Right after work, I immediately went to their beauty house; I was an hour early so I had to wait for my turn. While waiting I asked the receptionist if I could take photos of the place so I can post them on my blog; she happily agreed.

Of course, a selfie.

After an hour of waiting, the receptionist and/or therapist, Lisa, let me in the massage room. It was so cozy I just wanted to jump in bed. I changed into my robe, and put in my other clothes and other stuff into a pink box.

The process
  • Facial Cleansing
While I was lying on the comfy bed, Lisa started removing my make up and started cleansing my face by putting facial wash. She thoroughly cleaned my whole face and it lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Taking of photos/documentation
The manager and head therapist, Kim, entered the massage room and took my photos to be used for the before and after photo. She captured the front view and side views (left and right).

  •   Back and arm massage
I thought this was the best part of the whole session. I have had a crazy week at work, and I was very glad that back and arm massage are part of this session. Lisa applied hard pressure on my back but I really didn’t mind because it was THAT good. While she was massaging me, I kept on asking questions about the whole program. She told me that they have to learn new massage techniques once in a while to improve their knowledge and expertise. Albeit the hard pressure, her hands were as light as feathers. It was the most glorious back and arm massage that I have ever had!

  • Facial Massage
Aside from the back and arm massage, Lisa also gave me a facial massage. It was my first time to experience it, and I really liked it. As what I have mentioned earlier, her hands were as light as feathers. I didn’t feel any pain, because Yakson develops unique ways of massages which improve the quality of their service. It lasted for 20 minutes before the next procedure which is the masking.

  • Masking
This, for me,  is the most intimidating part of the process. Masking is done during the first and last session to compare the size of the face by putting on molding mask to the face. Lisa applied gypsum mask and gauze to my face, and put them layers by layers, until it’s thick enough. Since I am not used to it, I kept on moving my nose and lips while the mask was being applied, but Lisa kept on pressing the mask to my face — I think it’s her way of saying, “Do not move!” Hahaha. We let it dry for 20 minutes, while I took a short nap.

  • Golki Therapy Massage
Okay, don’t get confused here. Golki massage is different from the facial massage that was done in the early part of the session. Yes, I also thought that they are just one thing. This is the real thing, the main attraction, the icing on the cake. This was done by Kim, the head therapist. She’s an expert in golki therapy as she has been doing this for the past 7-10 years. She explained to me that it will be a bit painful, but it’ll be worth it in the end. True to her words, she really made it painful, but really in a good way. I felt that my bones were moving every time she caressed my face. She applied soft pressure, and then a hard one afterwards. It’s really a different technique, a unique one. She touched my jaw, my cheeks, my neck, my forehead, and even touched my double chin!
It was a painfully beautiful experience!
To conclude the session, Kim massaged my face again, cleaned my face, and applied beauty products such as toner and facial cream. She even applied sunblock on my face! Lastly, she massaged my back, and stretched my arms and legs.
The whole session lasted for almost 3 hours but you know what, I wanted more! Good thing I still have 9 session left, and I could not wait to go back. My 2nd session is scheduled next week, so stay tuned for more updates.

Final thoughts:
No pain, no gain! You really need to feel the pain so it will be worth it in the end. I can’t wait to see the before-and-after comparison.
